How Can It Be – Lauren Daigle

Today’s strong worship song is How Can It Be by Lauren Daigle.  Lauren is gifted with a beautiful and strong voice. The lyrics of How Can It Be are equally strong. Sin, shame, and guilt are clearly admitted and confessed to God. As our accuser and adversary Satan would have us to believe that there is no forgiveness for sinners and that we dare not lift our hands to worship God. God’s grace in Christ Jesus, however reaches us and reveals to us that we are forgiven. Redeemed hands are clean hands in God’s sight.  A forgiven sinner has every reason to lift up their hands and worship the Holy One.

Scriptural references include Psalm 78:41, Psalm 79:18, Hebrews 7:25, Psalm 107:14, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 16:33, John 10:15, 1 Corinthians 15:22, and 1 John 2:2.

How Can It Be

I am guilty
Ashamed of what I’ve done
What I’ve become
These hands are dirty
I dare not lift them up
To the Holy One

You plead my cause,
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be, Yeah
How can it be

I’ve been hiding
Afraid I’d let you down
Inside I’d doubt
That You could love me
But in Your eyes
There’s only Grace now

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be, Yeah
How can it be, Oh

Though I fall
You can make me new
From this death
I will rise with You
Oh the Grace
Reaching out for me, Yeah
How can it be
How can it be

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
And You say that I am free, Oh

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
And You say that I am free
How can it be, Yeah
How can it be, Oh

Your Great Name by Natalie Grant

This week’s strong worship song is Natalie Grant’s Your Great Name from the album Love Revolution which came out in 2008. The words and music were written by Krissy Nordhoff and Michael Neale. The song is beautiful, phenomenal, and strong.  The song begins as a ballad, builds to a crescendo, and then ends as a ballad. It is christocentric 0r Christ-centered from start to finish. Scripture references for this song include Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13, Philippians 2:9, and Revelation 5:12.

Your Great Name

Lost are saved
Find their way
At the sound of Your great name
All condemned; feel no shame,
At the sound of Your great name
Every fear; has no place
At the sound of Your great name
The enemy; he has to leave;
At the sound of Your great name

(Chorus)
Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us
Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up;
That all the world will praise Your great name

All the weak, find their strength
At the sound of Your great name
Hungry souls receive grace
At the sound of Your great name
The fatherless, they find their rest
At the sound of Your great name
Sick are healed, and the dead are raised
At the sound of Your great name

(Chorus)

Redeemer, My Healer, Lord Almighty
My Savior, Defender,
You are my King

Redeemer, My Healer, Lord Almighty
My Savior, Defender,
You are my King

Jesus, the name of Jesus
You are high and lifted up
And all the world will praise Your great name
